The West Essex Track and Field Program was honored by the Board of Chosen Freeholders for the myriad of accomplishments garnered by our athletes in the past several seasons. We have referred to the seasons encompassing 2015-2018 as the "Era of Excellence."

As reflected in the proclamation the achievements amassed by the athletes are staggering when you look at them in their totality.

2 Group Team Championships (Boys 2016 & Girls 2017)
7 State Sectional Championships (Boys Spring 2015, Winter 2016,Spring 2016, Winter 2017, Spring 2017.) (Girls Winter 2017 & Winter 2018)
1 National Champion (Reanda Richards 400 Meter Hurdles)
6 First Team All Americans
62 Athletes qualifying for the New Balance National Championships
25 New Balance National Medalists
36 Group State Champions
75 State Sectional Champions
83 Essex County Champions

The presentation was attended by a number of supportive faculty members, parents, former graduates that were major contributors to the aforementioned program success, and of course current athletes and coaches. It was wonderful to see our athletes publicly recognized for their incredible dedication and hard work. Most importantly the character, discipline, commitment, and personal integrity required to achieve at this level will serve these student-athletes well long after their track and field careers have ended. We do look forward to watching the large number of alumni that are competing at major colleges across the country.
