West Essex High School proudly welcomed incoming freshmen and their families on Wednesday, January 14, for its annual Open House. The lively and informative evening provided an exciting and welcoming preview of the vibrant school community that incoming students will soon call home.

We are proud to share the College Board has recently announced that West Essex High School has been named to the Advanced Placement (AP) Program School Honor Roll, earning GOLD distinction. This award recognizes schools whose AP program delivers a high level of achievement while also increasing access to more students.

Congratulations to the entire WEMS ROGATE Interpretive Reading team. Their team spirit, hard work, and support from WEMS resulted in an exciting day of competition on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at St. Elizabeth's University in Morristown, New Jersey.

The Middle School was excited to welcome parents and guardians of current sixth-grade students and the future Class of 2032 to its annual Parent Orientation on January 8. The evening offered families a helpful and engaging overview of the middle school experience and the transition ahead.

On Tuesday, January 6, the West Essex Arts Department welcomed students from our sending districts - Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell, and Roseland - for another exciting Buddy Day experience. Elementary band, choir, and orchestra students were paired with Middle School musicians, giving them a firsthand look at what it’s like to be part of the West Essex music program.
