🎉 Welcome to WEHS, Class of 2030! We are excited to invite incoming 8th-grade students and their families to our redesigned Open House — an engaging, student-led experience that offers an authentic look at life at WEHS.

On Tuesday, January 6, the West Essex Arts Department welcomed students from our sending districts - Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell, and Roseland - for another exciting Buddy Day experience. Elementary band, choir, and orchestra students were paired with Middle School musicians, giving them a firsthand look at what it’s like to be part of the West Essex music program.

At the January 7 meeting, the Board of Education approved Ms. Alicia Angione’s appointment as the next Principal of West Essex Middle School. The Board also swore in its members following the November 4 election and selected a new President & Vice President.

On December 23rd, we bid farewell to Mrs. Paula Arbadji and Mrs. Jean Zuhl after 20 years of service and dedication to our West Essex community. We wish them all the best in their next chapter!

Leading up to winter break, we’ve been having a ton of fun at West Essex High School! Our annual Winter Wellness event, hosted by the Guidance Department, was once again a hit. Students enjoyed games, trivia, and gratitude activities, along with a festive gingerbread house competition, freshly baked cookies, and warm hot chocolate

The West Essex Arts Department hosted its Winter Concert Series throughout the month of December, filling the auditorium with beloved holiday music. The series opened on December 4 with performances by the Middle School and High School Bands, directed by Ms. Crystal Yoon and Ms. Elise McAloon.
