BYLAWS

1.  All students nominated for induction into a World Languages National Honor Society must meet the following requirements:
   • Be at least in their third level of study in the language and have completed at least three semesters of study in the language of induction.
   • Earned an average of A- in semester 1 of the current year in their World Language class.
   • Have an overall academic average of B+ / 3.75 or higher in all subjects.
   • Achieved a cumulative average of A- during all years of their High School language study.
2. Students who meet the above requirements will be offered an application to complete in order to be formally inducted into a World Languages Honor Society. Applicants will:
   
   • Plan to attend the induction ceremony in the Spring semester and any rehearsals set by the chapter advisors of their respective World Languages National Honor Societies unless the advisor is notified by parents with valid reason.
   • Demonstrate that they have attended world languages club meetings and/or assisted in the organization and execution of world languages club activities and/or tutored students in the language for which they are eligible for induction in or out of school and/or participated in community service projects organized by the world languages clubs.
3. Nominees who complete an application for review and meet all requirements on the application will be informed in writing by their advisor and formally inducted into the World Languages Honor Society for which they were eligible. It is expected as members, that students will make a good faith effort to:
   • Continue, regular participation in world languages club meetings and/or organization and execution of world languages club activities and/or tutoring students in the language for which they are eligible for induction.
   • Complete the highest level available to them in the language for which they are eligible for induction.
