Please join me in congratulating Head Boys Basketball Coach Bill Humes on reaching his 300th career win with a 46–43 victory at University High School on January 27.
Coach Humes has proudly served as the Head Basketball Coach at West Essex since 2011, following successful tenures at Passaic Valley and Caldwell High School. Over the course of his career, he has built programs rooted in hard work, discipline, and respect, while consistently placing the growth and development of his student-athletes at the forefront.
Coach Humes is widely recognized not only for his success on the court, but for his ability to mentor young people, foster teamwork, and create a culture of accountability and pride within his programs. His 300 wins are a reflection of years of dedication, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
While this milestone was reached away from our home court, please join me in celebrating him in school and the lasting impact Coach Humes has made on countless students, athletes, and school communities.
