Beginning with a ribbon cutting, West Essex Board Members, Administrators and representatives from Di Cara Rubino Architects had the opportunity to tour the new facilities: a brand new robotics classroom and two state-of-the-art culinary classrooms. All 3 rooms contain the latest and greatest technology and equipment. Supervisor of the Arts, Ms. Lisa Swanick, shared that the renovations were years in the making and expressed her excitement about the project’s completion and the opportunities it will provide for students.

Robotics teacher Mr. Tim Shea and culinary instructors Chef Robert Eckert and Chef Michael DelaPaz shared their enthusiasm, expressing gratitude to the Board of Education and administration for their support. They noted that the new facilities have already made a tremendous impact. “Every day, students come in eager to start cooking immediately,” shared the culinary instructors. “Parents have even told us their children are now cooking more at home and experimenting with recipes learned in class.”

Supervisor of the Arts, Ms. Lisa Swanick expressed her gratitude to the Board of Education, Superintendent Mr. Damion Macioci, Business Administrator Ms. Melissa Kida, and Director of Buildings and Grounds Mr. Taulant Feti for their roles in making the renovations possible. To celebrate, the culinary instructors, with help from their students, prepared a special dinner for the administration and Board using the new facilities.
