Dear West Essex Families,

West Essex has partnered with Concentric by Ginkgo to provide COVID-19 testing in our school district. This program is fully funded by the State of New Jersey and coordinated through the New Jersey Department of Health.  At this time, as per Executive Order No. 253, our District will continue COVID-19 testing for our unvaccinated employees twice per week; however, many of our staff members have opted into the testing program regardless of vaccination status.

Beginning Thursday, January 6, we will make this testing available to all students, regardless of vaccination status. This is an optional, voluntary testing program that will be offered every Monday and Thursday beginning at 3:35 pm in the West Essex High School Nurse’s Office.  You must register in advance, and all testing is by appointment only.  If you are interested in registering your child for the testing program, please click on the following link: WERSD COVID-19 Testing Program.  Once you complete the initial registration, you will receive a follow-up email with further instructions from the testing agency.

Testing Details

  • Saliva PCR Test
  • Test results take 48-72 hours
  • Each individual tested will complete a consent form (one time only) and will create a personal portal.
  • If you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the last 90 days you are not eligible for testing.

For information, please contact the High School Nurse, Karen Kinsey at [email protected] or at 973-228-1200 x1240.

Thank you for your continued support.

Damion Macioci, Superintendent of Schools
