After growing up around the world in a military family, Kristin attended high school in Apple Valley, California. She studied International Affairs at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Maine in Political Science. After graduation, Kristin returned to the University of Southern Maine to pursue a Master’s of Science degree in Teaching & Learning to follow her desire to inspire young people to be lifelong learners and active members of their community. Kristin taught high school social studies at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill, Maine for two years before relocating to New Jersey where she taught at Hunterdon Central Regional High School in Flemington for seven years. Kristin now comes to West Essex after pursuing her Supervisory Certification at Rutgers University to assist other teachers to realize their career goals and continue her career as a social studies educator. Kristin lives in Warren County, New Jersey with her husband and three children. Her passions outside of school include her family, waterskiing, running and reading.
