  • Students can donate blood and help save a life at the 3rd Annual American Red Cross Blood Drive Friday, February 24 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the High School West Gym. The drive is open to students ages 17 and 18 as well as 16-year-olds with an American Red Cross parental permission form. Please see nurse Mrs. Paula Frisch to schedule an appointment time. All volunteers must bring a photo ID and eat and hydrate themselves prior to donation.

  • Who's that impressive young man possessing talent and intelligence, who looks just as great in a bathing suit as he does in a tuxedo or pajamas? Why that's Mr. West Essex, of course. Come enjoy the show as 12 senior boys compete for the title of Mr. West Essex February 29 at 7 p.m. in the High School Auditorium. Tickets are $10 and are available for pre-sale at lunch February 28 and 29 and after school February 29.

  • ATTENTION: Parents of the 2012 Senior Class. Plans are being finalized for West Essex Project Graduation 2012 and it's going to be a great party! If you have not paid the $200 fee for you child, please do so immediately. Please send your check made out to WEPG-2012 to Anne Gasbarro, 55 Fleetwood Ave., Fairfield, NJ 07004. The deadline is March 1! If your child is unable to attend or if you need more information, please e-mail WEPG2012@aol.com. You may also call (973) 227-4438.

  • The HSPAs, New Jersey’s High School Proficiency Assessment, will be administered to West Essex Juniors in school on March 6, 7, 8. Juniors must pass the Mathematics and Language Arts sections of the HSPA as a graduation requirement. We are offering extra instruction outside of the classroom for this test at no cost to families on Saturday, February 18 and Saturday, February 25.
